Excursion 5Cairngorm Walk (www.cairngorms.co.uk)

Scotland's highest mountains are known as Munros, named after Sir Hugh Munro who in 1891 surveyed all the country's mountains above 3000 feet. With improvements in height metrology the original list of 236 tops has now been extended to 284 and Munro-bagging (climbing all the Munros) is a popular activity among Scottish hill walkers.  Five out of the six highest Munros are in the Cairngorms and – weather permitting – we are going to try to ‘bag’ no. 6 on the list, Cairn Gorm itself, on this excursion.

It is essential that participants on this Excursion wear heavy walking boots and bring warm, waterproof clothing.
