Welcome!

The 18th International Conference on Laser Spectroscopy ICOLS 2007 will be held at the Telluride Conference Center in Telluride, Colorado.

How to Attend ICOLS07

Following tradition and by design, participation in ICOLS07 will be limited to approximately 300 attendees by invitation only. If you have not gotten your letter of invitation yet, please contact Jim Bergquist (berky@boulder.nist.gov) or Leo Hollberg (hollberg@boulder.nist.gov) to inquire about a letter of invitation.

If you have already received a letter of invitation, you can register and pay for the conference using the username and password stated in that letter.

Please register as soon as possible on this secure website: https://tellu003.secure.omnis.com/icols . Once your registration is confirmed you are an official participant of ICOLS07 and should not hesitate to apply for visas or other paperwork necessary to enable you to come to Telluride.

Please make sure that your registration is not too late to meet deadlines connected to visas or other paperwork you might need to complete in order to come to the USA and attend ICOLS07.

Acceptance to the conference is completely independent from acceptance of a poster abstract you might consider submitting. The poster abstract deadline is fixed at a late date, so that the meeting will have the latest and greatest results in the poster sessions.  Presumably the conference will already be full, or nearly so, by the time we reach the 1st May poster deadline. There is no real connection between abstract quality and participation. However, we always reserve the right to reject an abstract/poster submission, and in some cases we could even up-grade an especially important submission to a talk (if space is available).

General Program Format

Following traditions of previous meetings the 2007 ICOLS conference will consist of invited oral presentations along with poster sessions of contributed papers. The Telluride Colorado venue provides a beautiful setting that is conducive to close interactions of participants, as well as stimulating outside activities. Because of limited space and to ensure an active productive conference participation in the meeting is by invitation only. Updates on the conference will appear on this web site and will be sent out occasionally to the e-mail list.

Program Topics Include:

Atomic and molecular laser spectroscopy
Precision spectroscopy and metrology
Laser cooling and trapping
Atom optics and interferometry
Cold collisions
BEC's and degenerate Fermi gases
Quantum optics
Quantum information processing and simulation
Nonlinear optics
Laser sources
Novel applications of laser spectroscopy
